Twist!

So I think I finally figured out why the girls at Pret a Manger keep giving me free coffee (or, today, a soy cappucino with cinnamon).

It’s because….wait, are you ready for this?  I don’t think you’re ready…ok, wait for it…wait for it….it’s because they think I’m nice!

Me!  Nice!  I have been called a lot of things, but ‘nice’ is not one of them.  ‘Mean’ is.  ‘Snarky’ is another.  ‘Ridiculously gorgeous’ is another, though I suppose for the purposes of this conversation that’s neither here nor there.

This morning I walked in (it’s almost like a social experiment now, but I do still love me some Starbucks, especially since the red cups are back!!  Christmas time is coming..woot woot!) and, I’m not kidding you, they cheered.  I mean, just in a “hey! it’s our favorite customer!” kind of way, they didn’t like, do the wave or anything.  But still, they know how to make a girl feel special.

So the girl gets me my drink, and the lid pops up, spilling some of my cappucino on the counter.  She pulls it back and goes to refill what poured out, and I grab some napkins and start wiping up the pool of wasted soy foam.  When she comes back, she looks at my handiwork, and exclaims, “You didn’t have to do that!  You are SO NICE!”

Nice!  I’m nice!!!
